'Alien' creatures appeared in Australia after heavy rain

Heavy rains in central Australia have forced the temporary closure of the country's Uluru National Park and caused flooding in the nearby town of Kintore. However, natural disasters caused people to discover something very interesting: the appearance of a creature that seemed to come from an alien planet.

This creature has the appearance of a crustacean but is quite strange. After a period of research, scientists discovered that this is the Shield Shrimp, also known as the shield shrimp.

So why did this creature suddenly appear in central Australia? According to scientists, the shield shrimp is very well adapted to desert conditions. The eggs of this shrimp species in desert conditions do not die but stay in a 'sleeping' state for many years before being exposed to heavy rain and hatching. This is the reason why shield shrimp suddenly appeared in the central region of Australia - where the climate is quite hot with many deserts.

Expert Michael Barritt said: 'This shrimp has a large shield on the top of its body. Female shrimp carry eggs under their bodies. The eggs are very resistant to desiccation and can survive for years in desert soil before hatching.'
