A case of cruelty to animals at the airport has just happened, causing public outrage.
Recently, a dog of the Golden Retriever breed was brought on a flight of a Chinese airline flying from Shanghai to Wuhan and somehow managed to escape from the cage placed in the luggage compartment. But after it was returned to its owner by Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, there were wounds all over its body.
The above owner said his dog was missing from the luggage compartment after the plane landed last Wednesday (May 24):
“I was very worried because I remembered articles I read online about dogs being beaten to death for escaping. I asked the airport staff what to do, if it was hit. They told me don't worry, airport staff won't hit it and will help find it."
So after this owner waited anxiously for a long time, four airport employees brought the dog back to him. It was wrapped in a large net, its body covered with wounds and blood, and even its eyes were bleeding. They told him that the dog had fallen, but that those were not injuries caused by the fall.
However, after being returned, its body was covered with injuries.
One employee even said angrily that it took them 2 hours to catch the dog, while another said there was nothing they could do because the dog ran into a restricted area.
“I am extremely angry and frustrated. It was as if his own child was beaten, and the perpetrator evaded responsibility. I didn't have the energy to argue with them, so I quickly took her to the doctor. Because its fur is long, it covers all the wounds.”
After the dog's blood-stained fur was shaved off, the doctor discovered many round wounds covering the head, eyes, back and legs. It looks like the dog was beaten with some kind of spiked whip, or shot with an air gun or some similar weapon.
Wounds indicate abuse, not falls.
“I don't know how airport staff can be so cruel to passengers' pets. No matter what happens, they shouldn't beat them like that. In this case, my flight arrived early in the morning and there was only one other waiting, so it could not affect flight safety. I hope the airline and Tianhe Airport will give a satisfactory explanation and stop pushing the responsibility.”
According to a notice issued by Wuhan Tianhe International Airport later, the aforementioned dog was arrested and restrained by emergency measures for safety reasons.
“In order to prevent the dog from running into the runway or parking area, which could cause a serious accident, airport personnel must implement restraint based on aviation rules and regulations.”
