Most black cats have an unapproachable appearance and tend to have more trouble finding a long-term caretaker. But with the four-eared cat Midas, the opposite is true.

Midas cat is a Russian blue-eyed cat, the coat color is a bit gray but quite thick and fluffy. Many people have to look twice to realize that the cat has 4 ears.

This deformity is related to a recessive mutation from its parent. Small ears do not help the cat hear better, its hearing is completely normal with additional large ears and small ears.

Thanks to the unusual deformity, the 4-month-old cat attracted a lot of attention and a woman in Türkiye adopted it. Cemre Polat hopes her efforts will encourage others to adopt unusual animals. Sometimes it's the things that make the extraordinary that make them special.

"He's a really cool cat," says shelter veterinrian Dr. Todd Blauvelt. "He's really nice. Really affectionate. He has a very rare congenital defect. It doesn't really affect his hearing. He can hear just fine. But he has two little ear tufts behind his ear. I've never encountered that. We had to look it up. We found a couple of cats in the past decades, it was noted."

In addition to possessing up to 4 ears, the Midas cat also has a beautiful heart-shaped white patch on its belly, unique and extremely cute.
