A woman, 105, who has lived in the same house since she was born has no plans to go anywhere and says 'they'll take me from here.'

Elsie Allcock turns 105 next month and because she was born in the house, located on Barker Street in Huthwaite, she will also be celebrating the 105th anniversary of her time there.

She has been through some of the most significant events in history while living in the house - including both World War I, World War II, and three coronations.

Elsie was born in an upstairs bedroom on June 28, 1918, just as the First World War drew to a close.

She is the youngest of five children and stayed in the property to take care of her father, after her mother died of pneumonia.

The great-great-grandmother then married her husband Bill Allcock in 1941 and went on to buy the modest two-bedroom terrace home for just £250 in 1960, after her father's death.

Speaking to The Sun last year, Elsie said: 'We didn't have £250, so I went to the council and asked for a loan. They agreed and the house was ours.'

'We kept the outside loo - it still works. Very little has changed. I wouldn't have been happy anywhere else.'

Elsie says she's so familiar with the house that she says she 'could make my way round it in the dark'.

Bill died in 1995 from cancer after 55 years of being happily married.

Elsie- whose hobbies include gardening and knitting- and Bill had two boys, six grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

The house is now worth £75,000 but for Elsie, it's simply priceless.

She can recall the changing landscape of the street and the good old days when 'you never had to lock your door'.

She now lives in the house with her only surviving son Ray, who is 76-years-old.

Ray spoke to ITV about his mother's connection to the house. He said: 'You come in the house and you don't find her. She's either upstairs or in the yard doing something.

'I guarantee now if you look in her pocket there's a duster. She's always at it, you can't make her stop.'

Elsie added: 'I was born here and they'll take me from here.

'I never really wanted to move anyway.'

Elsie is planning to celebrate her special birthday and anniversary by planning a big party in the house that has seen her develop through every stage of her life.
